I’m Jesse.

I’m a product designer and a visual artist from Portland, Oregon. Currently based in Berlin, Germany, most of my artistic work focuses on the creation of original surreal characters meant to investigate the emotions, curiosities, and trickster narratives that cultures around the world often express through the invention of mythical beings. My visual style draws on inspiration from Greek mythology, Dutch Masters, Germany’s Expressionism and Neue Sachlichkeit movements, Japanese animation, Medieval grotesques, Baroque frescos, Cubism, Pop art, Artificial Realism, Garfield the Cat, and indigenous art from regions like the Pacific Northwest. Themes of interest to me include ideas related to dreams, memories, desires, materialism, character archetypes, folk tales, globalization, geopolitics, American popular culture, electronic music, and the capacity for digital technology to amplify and distort human perspectives.
